Dreamweaver CS6 comes equipped with significant new features that allow web designers to create mobile-ready websites, sharper websites that are relevant for the global market, more responsive web properties, and more. If you are using an older version of Dreamweaver, now is the time to upgrade. If you’re still skeptical, here are some arguments that should convince you:

Fluid Grid-based CSS layouts

CS6 has made it possible for designers to create adaptive CSS layouts that adjust to different screen resolutions. The result – when a web page is opened, it adjusts automatically to the viewer’s hardware device (mobile, desktop, tablet). Designers can now save precious code time adapting one website for different devices.

CSS3 Transitions

The brand new CSS Transitions panel helps designers to easily apply property changes to page elements that are CSS-based. The result – web elements that respond to cursor events like hovering, focusing and clicking. For example, you can make a menu bar item change color when the user hovers over it. The icing on the cake is that designers can create CSS transitions using both code-level support and the CSS Transitions panel.

Integrating Phonegap Build

Designers without any knowledge of coding for mobile can now easily build mobile applications with their existing HTML, Javascript and CSS knowledge. This is made possible by the PhoneGap Build panel. After creating their app, they can download it on their computer for testing. PhoneGap Build manages the project and allows designers to create apps for iOS, Android, Blackberry, WebOS and Symbian.

JQuery Mobile

Dreamweaver CS 6 is equipped with JQuery Mobile v 1.0 and JQuery v 1.6.4. Designers can now choose full CSS files or split CSS files (structural or theme), and this gives designers greater flexibility.

Multiple CSS Class Selection

Designers can now apply many CSS classes to one single element. Once this is done, Dreamweaver CS 6 creates a new multiclass from the selections, and then this multiclass becomes available to the designer from other places where CSS selections are made.

Business Catalyst

The Business Catalyst panel allows designers to insert ecommerce and social media elements such as shopping carts, product catalogs, blogs, social media elements/integration, etc. These elements save enormous time and coding hassles. Designers can easily work on the databases of the Business Catalyst and switch over to the local Dreamweaver files, without losing focus and time.

Easy Image Optimization

Dreamweaver CS 6 makes image optimization as easy as 1-2-3. All that the designer has to do is select an image and click on Edit Image Settings (in the Property Inspector). He gets an instant preview of the image and then can optimize (the pixels) and save the image.

Do You Think It’s Time To Change yet?

Dreamweaver CS 6 makes life easy for the designer, who can create very responsive, feature-rich and mobile websites without working up a sweat. If you are working on an older Dreamweaver version, then you surely would be missing out on these rich functions (described above). Don’t you think it’s high time to obtain adequate Adobe training and go in for an upgrade to CS 6?
