This has got to be the worst love story ever made and the weakest product from Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions.

I hate Luv Storys is about Jay (Imran Khan) and Simran (Sonam Kapoor), their differences, beliefs in love, where Jay does not believe in love and Simran loves almost everything in her life and in between they find their own love story.

I Hate Luv Storys begins and ends by making fun of old classic love stories we have thoroughly enjoyed over the years. Almost every famous romantic dialogue we remember has been ridiculed and the movie itself does not have a single sequence to be appreciated.

Shameless inclusion of hit songs from Karan Johar’s previous films have been used excessively. I don’t understand why they did that, original music would have added it own value and feel to this film.

Humor quotient is sad. Jokes are dumb, in one scene (actually twice) Imran gets drunk in a bar and stands up and makes a speech to everybody present there that his wife is pregnant and please help him in convincing his wife to dance with him. This was a joke to make Sonam happy! In another sequence there is this line ‘idhar udhar ki baatein, vagera vagera‘ which is repeated beyond punishing levels.

Then there are times when the plot moves nowhere, full length song tracks are played. As if we haven’t already heard the songs in the background which by the way plays after every few minutes.

So, is there anything to enjoy? I personally found it hard to pass time which reminds me of a scene where Imran asks Sonam in a theater that he needs company to pass of this movie. Wish I has such luck.

At every point Imran tries to make fun of cliched romantic Hindi movies but I Hate Luv Storys turns out to be a bigger joke than its intentions.

Imran Khan is talking too much and explaining every shot which gets annoying after a while but that’s nothing compared to his acting. His bad acting skills shows when he confesses his love to Sonam.

Sonam Kapoor is happy one moment and sad in another scene. This keeps on happening till the end but most importantly you’ll never feel for her, emotions are lacking.

Sameer Dattani has an obsolete character. Every times he appears, feels like looking somewhere else because he is made to do same things again and again. He is always apologizing, taking Sonam out on dinner, giving white roses and dressed to perfection in every frame.

How bad is this film? You’ll have to see it to believe it, but I won’t recommended you doing that. Avoid at all costs.
