• Coffee production in December increased 18% compared to the same month in 2016.

Bogotá, January 3, 2018 (FNC Press Office) – Within the forecasts of the Colombian Coffee Growers Federation (FNC), coffee production in Colombia, the world’s largest producer of mild washed Arabica coffee, closed 2017 at 14.2 million bags, the same figure as in 2016.
In December coffee production increased 18% compared to the same month in 2016 and reached 1.6 million bags.
In the coffee year (October-December), production decreased by 10% and closed at 3.9 million bags compared to 4.4 million bags in the same period in 2016.
Coffee exports grow 2% in 2017
In 2017 Colombian coffee exports reached 13.1 million bags, 2% up from the 12.8 million bags exported in the same period of the previous year.
In December, coffee exports decreased 5% compared to the same month in 2016 and closed at 1.4 million bags.
During the coffee year (October-December), exports were 3.6 million bags, 9% down from the 4 million of the same previous period.
