Life consists of eternal transformation. As long as we live on this earth, we are constantly transforming. Perfection will never be obtained. However, we can achieve good health in our minds, bodies, and spirits. The way we can achieve those things is by the power of choice. God is truly present and all-powerful. However, God does not force His way. He provides influences that are natural; some may say overwhelming. At the end of the day, God still needs a ‘yes’ and that’s a choice. With this great power, comes great responsibility (yes, I know that’s a famous phrase that is overly used… sorry… LOL). Here are 3 ways to positively embrace the power of choice to help achieve good health:

  1. Choose your body. The fact that we have areas like medical care, fitness facilities, hair salons, spas, farm-grown foods, showers, etc., means we should make choices that involves taking better care of our bodies. It’s easy to neglect the body because life gets so busy! Sure, we take a quick shower so we don’t have too badly of body odor or we’ll grab some fast-food so our stomachs isn’t too empty while at the parent-teacher meeting. But seriously, to properly care for our bodies, we should do better at eating healthier foods, exercising, practicing better hygiene, and more. Even the best dressed, well-groomed, or most athletic can improve.
  2. Choose your mind. We just mentioned how life gets busy. That means our minds are constantly racing! Thinking about everything to anything. But for a healthier mind, we should choose simple processes and/or moments to slow down. I tell my husband all the time, I just need a day to not think! Mental exhaustion is REAL! Taking time for meditation, doing a favorite hobby, playing outside, or whatever is opposite of the normal, daily grind – Do it!
  3. Choose your spirit. There is a higher power that controls all. As a Christian, that higher power is God. Acknowledging God and building a deeper relationship with Him improves our spiritual life. It creates a stronger level of hope, faith, and love. It even helps put certain areas of life into proper alignment. Meaning, it’s easier to recognize what really matters. We recognize to appreciate more of life’s simple pleasures and all that God has allowed for us.

Know the power behind #iChoose! I’ve starting sharing more with others about the power of choice. Every day we are present with so many opportunities to decide. Many people feel like they don’t have a lot of options. But I feel when someone thinks they’re limited it’s because they’ve built those limitations. God does not limit us in a way that is negative. He gives individuals their uniqueness but even with that uniqueness, there are many opportunities. It’s time we start using our power for making the world a better place! Choose this day to make decisions that will make a positive impact now and for the future!
