Let me first say that I am not an insurance salesman, I have never been an insurance salesman and although you may not realise it, insurance runs a big part of our lives.

I am an MLM Builder, a business developer and life skills coach, I hate insurance (And Love it). I dislike the fact we pay for something that we may never need but…. OMG, how different things could be without it!

Forget the big insurances for a moment. Take a minute and reflect on all our other insurances we take out without even knowing it.

Why are we told to finish school? Security for later employment perhaps?

Why get dressed in the morning? Insurance against the cold, public opinion or even maybe getting arrested?

Why do we have police if it isn’t to insure against crime and equal standards.

Don’t we leave home early when on our way to an important event so we can insure our arrival at the designated time?

Our actions are insurances against a less than desired outcome. Do you strap your kids into the car because you have to by law or because it insures their safety?

Hopefully I have made my point. Insurance is everywhere.

Why is it then that so many people will insure against every day catastrophes’ but ignore insuring against things that could re-shape your life as you know it?

The screams are loud and clear. It wont happen to you. It costs too much money.

Now I’m no genius but people who insure their run down old car and not insure themselves and family for private health leave me confused and bewildered.

Fate can strike at any time; insurance is your safeguard against loss, damage or injury.

People will insure their house contents fearing burglary but will shy away from liability insurance that can see judgments against you if a personal injury occurred on your property?

Failure to insure is short sighted and can be very expensive to say the least.

Please remember, I am not and I repeat not an insurance salesman but I am someone that cherishes a particular lifestyle and will do whatever it takes to protect it.

Fourteen months ago totally out of the blue I suffered a stroke.

What I can categorically tell you is that without private health insurance, my family would be in the red for thousands upon thousands with nothing more than years of debt to look forward too.

Do you have income insurance?

I surely cannot be alone when describing a lack of insurance as a game of roulette with the lives of you and your loved ones at stake.

The latest figures I have come across (CBS) suggest that 47 million Americans do not have health insurance and another 27 million are under insured…Wow

From my way of thinking: If you are going to invest time, energy and finances into developing a better life you need to insure against the whole house of cards from coming crashing down…?

Look in today’s paper. How many incidents are highlighted that would either be an advertisement for having insurance or a horror story about not having any.

The paper will articulate car theft, bank disclosures, burning houses, robbery, flu epidemics, corporate theft, floods, bush fires, accidents at home and the list goes on.

It happens to people just like you and me.The big question is whether or not you are going to insure yourself against the fallout from something that may or may not ever arrive unexpectedly on your door step.

Stay well.
