Most people find this hard to believe, but there are times when going to a lawyer with your ad or sales letter will make you more money.

I know that sounds strange, but it's true.

For example, I recently interviewed a true advertising genius who has built a million dollar business selling self-published books.

And he was telling me how he wrote a book on home remedies – which is a highly regulated market where people have been tossed in prison for making certain claims.

And so, before running his ad, what he did was call a lawyer who is a specialist in vitamins and consumable products, and said it totally opened his eyes to all kinds of possibilities he never considered before.

Not just from a legal standpoint, but also from a money making standpoint.

In his case he said he found out that while you can't make a claim something will "cure" anything, many times you can take your strong-claimed headline and just put a question mark at the end of it.

For example, instead of saying:

Never Get The Common Cold Again!

You say:

Never Get The Common Cold Again?

See the the idea?

In this case, having a question mark not only makes the ad legal, but makes it better since question headlines generally pull like crazy.

So don't be hesitant to speak with a good lawyer about your ads if you have any doubts about what you can and cannot say.

Not only will you sleep better without fear of red-flagging a regulator agency, but it is also possible you will walk away with ideas that put more money in your pocket at the same time.
